I wanted to like this book, I really did, but it just wasn't what I was expecting. The first half was great with descriptioms of styles and history of the country, but the second half was more or less a travel guide for dri king beer in Lithuania. If I ever planned on going there, it might have been a bigger help. I guess I'll go back to reading the author's blog.

This book is a great overview of traditional Lithuanian beer styles. It goes into some detail about methods and ingredients, and shares information about breweries of all sizes, beers themselves, and beer bars around Lithuania. A great resource. Now I need to book a trip to Lithuania!

If you want to make the most of your stay in Lithuania and avoid wasting your time on boring beers, this one is for you. A potted history and other useful background information, too.
